ఈ లోకంలో మనుషులు తమ అలవాట్లను, ఆలోచనలను లేదా ప్రవర్తనను మార్చుకోవడానికి ఎన్నో ప్రయత్నాలు చేస్తుంటారు. కానీ బాహ్యమైన మార్పు తాత్కాలికమైనదే; మానవుని అంతరంగం మారనంత వరకు అసలైన పరివర్తన సాధ్యం కాదు. మన స్వంత బలంతో మనలోని కోపాన్ని, ద్వేషాన్ని, లేదా బలహీనతలను సంపూర్ణంగా జయించలేము. ఈ ఆధ్యాత్మిక సత్యాన్నే దేవుడు గుర్తించి, కేవలం మన ప్రవర్తనను సరిచేయడం మాత్రమే కాకుండా, మన అంతరంగాన్నే నూతనపరిచే అద్భుతమైన వాగ్దానాన్ని ప్రవక్తయైన యెహెజ్కేలు ద్వారా యెహెజ్కేలు 36:26 లో ఈ విధంగా బయలుపరిచాడు:

రాతిహృదయము తీసివేయుట (Taking away the stony heart): రాతిహృదయము అనగా దేవుని వాక్యానికి, దైవిక ప్రేరణకు స్పందించని కఠినమైన మనస్సు. కష్టాలు, గాయాలు, పగ మరియు లోకసంబంధమైన ఆశల వల్ల హృదయాలు కఠినమైపోతాయి. దేవుడు తన అపరిమితమైన కృపతో ఆ కఠినత్వాన్ని కరిగించి తీసివేస్తాడు.
మాంసపు హృదయము (A heart of flesh): మాంసపు హృదయము అనగా దేవుని స్వరానికి విధేయత చూపే, ఆయన ప్రేమను గ్రహించే నమ్రత కలిగిన సున్నితమైన హృదయము. దేవుని చిత్తానికి లోబడే హృదయమే నిజమైన ఆశీర్వాదాలకు నిలయం.

Recognizing this absolute spiritual reality, God promises not merely a behavioral patch, but a radical internal heart transplant through the Prophet Ezekiel in Ezekiel 36:26:
"A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh."
