ఈ లోకంలో మనం ఎంచుకునే స్నేహితులు, మన చుట్టూ ఉంచుకునే వ్యక్తులు మన జీవిత గమనాన్ని మార్చడంలో కీలక పాత్ర పోషిస్తారు. చాలాసార్లు మనం "నేను మంచివాడినే కదా, ఇతరులు చెడ్డవారైనా నేను మారను, వారి వల్ల నాకు ఎలాంటి నష్టం లేదు" అని అతివిశ్వాసంతో ఉంటాము. కానీ, మనకు తెలియకుండానే చుట్టూ ఉన్న వారి ఆలోచనలు, అలవాట్లు, మాటల తీరు మనపై ప్రభావం చూపిస్తాయి. అపొస్తలుడైన పౌలు కొరింథు సంఘంలోని విశ్వాసులను ఆత్మీయంగా హెచ్చరిస్తూ, లోకపు భ్రమల నుండి బయటకు రావాలని 1 కొరింథీయులకు 15:33 లో ఈ పరమ సత్యాన్ని ఎంతో ఖచ్చితంగా ప్రకటించాడు:
"మోసపోకుడి. దుష్ట సాంగత్యము మంచి నడవడికను చెరుపును."
ఈ శక్తివంతమైన దైవిక హెచ్చరికలో మన జీవితాలను భద్రపరచుకోవడానికి పునాది వంటి మూడు ముఖ్యమైన ఆత్మీయ సత్యాలు ఉన్నాయి:
మోసపోకుడి (Be not deceived): సాతాను మనల్ని మోసగించడానికి ఉపయోగించే అతి పెద్ద ఆయుధం చెడు విషయాలను లేదా చెడు స్నేహాలను చాలా సాధారణమైనవిగా చూపించడం. "ఇందులో తప్పేముంది?" అనే చిన్న ఆలోచనతోనే మోసం మొదలవుతుంది. అందుకే వాక్యం మనల్ని మొదటగా 'హెచ్చరికగా' ఉండమని చెప్తోంది.
దుష్ట సాంగత్యము (Evil communications / bad company): దుష్ట సాంగత్యం అంటే కేవలం పెద్ద నేరాలు చేసే వారితో తిరగడం మాత్రమే కాదు; దేవుని భయం లేనివారు, అబద్ధాలు ఆడేవారు, ఇతరులపై నిందలు వేసేవారు, ఆత్మీయ జీవితాన్ని కించపరిచే వారితో సన్నిహితంగా ఉండటం కూడా దుష్ట సాంగత్యమే.
మంచి నడవడికను చెరుపును (Corrupt good manners): ఎంతో కష్టపడి, భక్తితో, క్రమశిక్షణతో మనం నిర్మించుకున్న 'మంచి నడవడిక' (Good Character) తప్పుడు వ్యక్తుల సాంగత్యం వల్ల చాలా త్వరగా నాశనమైపోతుంది. బొగ్గును తాకితే చేయి నల్లబడుతుందనే సామెతలా, చెడు ప్రభావం మన ఆత్మీయ ఎదుగుదలను మొగ్గలోనే తుంచేస్తుంది.
ఈ రోజు మీ దైనందిన జీవితంలో, మీ స్నేహితుల వలయంలో లేదా మీరు సమయం గడుపుతున్న వ్యక్తుల ప్రవర్తన వల్ల మీ ఆత్మీయ జీవితం బలహీనపడుతోందా? "నన్ను నేను కాపాడుకోగలను" అనే భ్రమలో ఉంటూ, దేవునికి దూరం చేసే అలవాట్లకు లొంగిపోతున్నారా? మీ ప్రార్థన జీవితం, వాక్య ధ్యానం మందగించాయా? అధైర్యపడకండి!

Warning the believers to stay alert against the subtle deceptions of the world, the Apostle Paul declares this absolute truth with utmost gravity in 1 Corinthians 15:33:
"Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners."

Just like touching coal inevitably stains your hands, ungodly peer pressure paralyzes your spiritual growth.
