ఈ లోకంలో జీవిస్తున్నప్పుడు దేవుని మార్గంలో నడవడం, ఆయన చిత్తాన్ని నెరవేర్చడం అనేది చాలా కష్టమైన, భారమైన నియమం ఏమోనని మనుషులు భావిస్తుంటారు. లోకసంబంధమైన ఆలోచనలు, నియమాలు మనపై అనవసరమైన భారాన్ని, ఆందోళనను మోపుతాయి. కానీ దేవుని పట్ల మనకున్న ప్రేమ కేవలం పెదవుల మాటలకు పరిమితం కాకూడదు; అది ఆయన ఆజ్ఞలకు లోబడటం ద్వారా వ్యక్తమవుతుంది. మనం దేవుని దైవిక ప్రేమను గ్రహించినప్పుడు, ఆయన ఆజ్ఞలను పాటించడం భారంగా అనిపించదు; అది మన హృదయానికి ఎంతో ఆనందాన్ని, స్వేచ్ఛను ఇస్తుంది. అపొస్తలుడైన యోహాను 1 యోహాను 5:3 లో ఈ గొప్ప ఆత్మీయ సత్యాన్ని ప్రకటిస్తున్నాడు:

ఆజ్ఞలు భారమైనవి కావు (His commandments are not grievous): లోకపు భారం మన మనస్సును నలిపివేస్తుంది, కానీ దేవుని ఆజ్ఞలు మనల్ని విడిపిస్తాయి. ఆయన మనకు ఇచ్చిన ఆజ్ఞలన్నీ మన క్షేమం కొరకే, మన రక్షణ కొరకే అనుగ్రహించబడ్డాయి గనుక అవి ఏమాత్రం భారం కావు.
